Well the leaves have come to turning…

Today is pumpkin day, as family tradition dictates. This will be the first year that Calder and I will be doing this as a duo, and I've been informed by his majesty that I might have to "invite a big man to come because you won't be able to lift the giant pumpkins."

Grrr.

Calder looks like he might weigh the same as a good-sized pumpkin and I'll bet he still get lugged around plenty.

He'll soon learn that it's not the size of the Pumpkin that matters, it's what you do with it.

One good use for them.

the trauma of picking out the right pumpkin.

I still remember how my mom forgot to get me a pumpkin to carve for the pumpkin carving competition. We were supposed to have already carved a pumpkin, but my grade two brain wasn't prepared to follow instructions.

Instead, mom dropped off a plain, uncarved pumpkin at the office. I guess she thought I was supposed to carve it at school.

I was terribly ashamed and flustered.

I still don't really know what happened, but I came in second with a perfectly round and uncarved pumpkin.

The right pumpkin is important.
